Russ Carnahan Voted For Largest Tax Increase In American History

Call me crazy, but I still think that Democrat Congressman Russ Carnahan can be defeated.

He voted for HR 2454, the House version of Cap and Trade.

This is the largest tax increase in American history. It's a bear. This will raise the cost of EVERYTHING. Everything.

If the economy continues to not improve, if jobs continue to disappear (this bill will be a huge job killer), and life in the United States becomes harder and harder, we can pin this squarely on Congressman Carnahan. Cap and Trade will be a disaster, and Russ Carnahan voted for it.

But don't start filming the issues ads just yet. Give it some time. Things will get worse, and as they do, we will remind that the continued decline is the fault of Russ Carnahan and others like him.

And you can almost hear the knee-jerk liberal reaction about big business. This isn't about big business. It's about small business, middle-sized business, sole proprietors. It's about anyone who buys anything. It's about anyone who uses energy. Our federal government is causing the cost of energy to artificially inflate. You will pay more at the pump. You will pay more on your electric bill. You will pay more for natural gas. You will pay more in sales and or property taxes (there are provisions in this bill that will require local governments to hire additional staff to regulate our lives). It will be harder to sell your home (you would have to bring your house up to new green codes if you want to sell it). The cost of everything is going up and our overbearing federal government is to blame.

This puts a burden on everyone across the board.

Is this the hope and the change that people voted for when they voted for Barack Obama? I'm willing to bet that there are a growing number of Obama voters out there who are having buyer's remorse, not just in Obama, but in Congressman Carnahan, too.

I don't know if he's willing to run again, but Chris Sander would NEVER have supported such atrocious legislation.
