Pushing Back Digital TV Deadline?

The Washington Post is reporting that President-Elect Obama's transition team is asking Congress to postpone the switch to digital television.

This has nothing to do with partisan politics. It has nothing to do with who was, is, or will be in office.

The Federal Government apparently has not done an effective and efficient job preparing the public for their mandated switch to DTV. The Federal Government wasted $1,400,000,000 (that's 1.4 Billion dollars) on $40 coupons for private citizens to go out and purchase converter boxes. Note that this program ran out of money with more than a month to go. Our local TV stations have bombarded us with Switch to DTV Countdowns and numerous ads about what you need to do and hotlines you can call. This Old House dedicated an entire episode to the switch to digital. But it wasn't enough.

The VCR in Congress is blinking 12:00. Is this really the same government we want running our health care system?
