Is Matt Blunt a Palin Hater?

Is our very own governor Matt Blunt a Sarah Palin hater? We don't know.

"The GOP governors spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity."

Anonymously whining about not getting the same level of attention as your party's vice-presidential candidate. Yeah, jealousy is a great leadership trait.

I'm not espousing this as a theory, or even a hunch. All I'm saying is that it's within the realm of possibility that Matt Blunt (OUTGOING governor who served one term and chose not to seek reelection), a big Mitt Romney backer, is among the Palin haters.

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour gets it right (with context from the same article):
There has been palpable tension among some GOP governors gathered in Miami that Palin has been sucking up all the media oxygen.

In an interview with CNN, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour shrugged off that suggestion.

"That's just somebody running down a rabbit trail. There's plenty of oxygen here,” he said.

Oh and by the way, when you make anonymous comments like that, you make the whole Republican Governors Association bad. I'm inclined to think that every Republican governor except Sarah Palin and Haley Barbour (and maybe a few other exceptions), is a nitwit because these Republican cowards are unwilling to take responsibility for your words.

Thanks to Allahpundit for blogging about the press conference.

I doubt it, Josh. Blunt's efforts in MO on behalf of the McCain campaign were a driving force behind keeping the state red - plus, any petty jealousy wouldn't help the party in this time of rebuilding, and I see Blunt as more of a uniter, rather than a divider.
