I usually catch most of the Rush Limbaugh Show, but I didn't catch this clip. So not having heard this hour of his show, I'm operating under the assumption (based on a lot of past experience) that the drive-by media has taken Rush completely out of context. Let's roll the tape:
First, Brad Blakeman is an empty suit, and the same is true of Dan Abrams who probably fancies himself the next Kieth Olbermann. We'll get back to Mr. Blakeman in the next paragraph. The Verdict doesn't try to get an alternate view on their clip of Mr. Limbaugh. They didn't want to understand what Rush said or put it in its proper context. Instead they read something second hand on Media Matters (because these hacks don't actually listen to Rush's show) and just ran with it. This was a completely one-sided discussion and was hardly fair and balanced (which is funny because in another segment of the show, Abrams pokes fun at Fox News by playing at least three clips. Oh, and why is MSNBC advertising Hardball with Chris Matthews ON FOX NEWS?). Not only that, but the segment was not much more than an excuse to advocate the Fairness Doctrine (aka the Hush Rush bill) - "It does seem, April, that there is almost no accountability on something like that." "He can do these things because no one stops him." Nevermind that MSNBC has an overwhelming left wing bias.
Back to our buddy Brad Blakeman; when asked by Abrams, "You're not going to defend that, right?" he automatically accepted the premise and was just beside himself for the whole segment. The first thing that came to mind was the 1996 Vice Presidential Debate where Algore's implied that most Republicans are racist, sexist, jingoistic, prejudiced bigots but that Jack Kemp was the exception and not the rule, to which Jack Kemp replied, "Well, I thank you, Al. I mean that very, very sincerely," and threw us all under the bus instead of rejecting the premise.
Blakeman exhibits the signs of the Republican who has been corrupted by the culture in Washington. He wants to be their friend, so he'll throw conservatives under the bus instead of fighting liberal bias so that he can be invited to the parties and the social clubs and whatnot. Truthfully, he never should have appeared on the show in the first place because he reacted only to what they showed him (he doesn't strike me as someone who ever listens to Rush) and he probably hasn't read Jerome Corsi's book Obama Nation, either. The fact that he was so ill informed is evidence that he was just a token Republican that The Verdict used to reinforce their own liberal agenda. What a useful idiot Brad Blakeman is.
Speaking of Corsi's Obama Nation, Abrams cites Media Matters as a reliable source for fact-checking the book. Nice. And you get the impression that Abrams is bent out of shape that people would have the audacity go out and buy the book. How dare a book that says things about Barack Obama that the mainstream media omits could reach #1 on the NYT Best Seller List! We should only rely on the cotton candy coverage of The Chosen One provided by the drive-by media. No substance, no vetting, no tough questions. You will believe in the hope and the change and you will like it. Just take your Obama-flavored soma and enjoy it.
Oh! This is rich. MAJOR HYPOCRITE ALERT! In the last ten minutes of the very same show in which he criticized Rush for a questionable theory, Mr. Abrams suggests that Jessica Simpson's shirt which said "Real Girls Eat Meat" could have an alternate meaning, clearly making an oral sex reference. Here it is:
You stay classy, Dan. I'm sure you will continue to get your clock cleaned in the ratings department by Hannity & Colmes.

Josh, You are a idiot! You don't know me and I certainly do not know you. I do know your type. Just because I do not march lock step with your heroes of Conservatism even when they are wrong that somehow makes me the "empty suit". You are as bad as those like you on the far left. You do not have a original thought. You think they way others tell you too and then you seek to destroy anyone who disagrees with your heroes. I have more political experience than you could ever hope to have. Rush was wrong to attack Elizabeth Edwards and Corsi is a publicity hound who actually hurts Conservatives with his constant attacks and sensationalism. There is a reason our "brand" is damaged and it starts with idiots like you. Sad
