RNC: Final Notice

Can you see those two red words in this photo? Is it from my landlord? The electric company? Maybe the cable company?

Today I received some junk mail from the Republican National Committee. Folks, this is a new low for our pathetic national party leadership. The front of the envelope features a red FINAL NOTICE stamp.

Are you kidding me?

They're so desperate for money that they're acting like bill collectors? What, is the Republican National Committee going to foreclose on me? This is the height of incompetence. This is why the grassroots are important, because the national party leaders are CLUELESS. Completely out of touch. They have no idea what they're doing. At all.

Now I'm not a fund raising expert, but I believe in "reverse fund raising," that is, if you stick to your guns and stand on principle, money will find you [Note: This principle only applies to incumbents or long-established entities]. But they've abandoned conservative principles, and I'd argue that as a result, their funds have dried up. The national party doesn't have a leg to stand on when it asks for our help to "continue to advance our strong, compassionate, conservative agenda." They're not doing it now, and they've given us no reason to think the national party will find religion on conservatism IF we put them back in the majorities in congress. What do we owe this disloyal party?

So if you do want to donate to political causes, here's what I would suggest: we are in an election year, so give your time and money directly to your conservative republican candidates. I would NOT donate to parties. After supporting your federal and state conservatives, I'd point you to other U.S. Senate conservatives - the more conservatives in the Senate, the better our insurance policy we have against an Obama administration. If you've spent your fill on candidates but still have some more cash to play with, I'd point you to proven leaders on key issues, two come immediately to mind: The Heritage Foundation and the National Rifle Association. I would also take a look at the Club for Growth, National Right To Life and/or your state's chapter, as well as Americans for Prosperity.

Gotta love this line from the fund raising piece: "Your support of our party has never been more important." When has support been unimportant? In '96 we had to unseat a liberal. In 2000 we had to beat the VP. In 2004 we had to stay the course. This year it's an open seat where neither the president nor the VP is running and a U.S. Senator will win for the first time in a long time. It's like car ads on TV, "There's never been a better time to buy!"

If the RNC wants our money, they need to get their act together. Here's some things they could do to win us back: elect Paul Ryan to House party leadership, elect Jeff Flake to Appropriations, end earmarks, don't support the myth of global warming caused by human activity, shrink government, spend less, lower taxes, and fight back liberalism on every front. Show us you have a pair and that you stand up for conservative principles. And the RNC needs to completely clean house.

And as Rush and others have pointed out - does anybody even know who Robert M. "Mike" Duncan is?

We complain about the old media which follows tired templates, but the Republican Party is doing the same things in its campaign strategy. This is an outdated approach - it's like they're bringing knives to a gunfight.

I'm toying with the idea of making a YouTube video about this. Not a parody or anything, but just repeating what I've typed here.
